Review 1: Exactly what I needed!
This nt301 analyzer totally performed to my expectations. Very simple and intuitive with minimal need for referencing the instruction book (which is pretty thorough).
It accurately diagnosed the cause of my Check Engine Light (error code P0013). Went on YouTube to learn how the replace faulty VVT exhaust solenoid, and after a trip to Autozone for the new part, was able to replace it in about 20 minutes. Rechecked system and it was good to go. Loved that I was able to clear error code from car's ECM memory after the repair. Now I can pass the annual emissions test that is required to renew my next registration here in Texas.
Chevy dealer wanted $125 just to connect to the OBD2... then would add parts/labor to that.
Paid $65 for the scanner tool, $48 for the part and came out way ahead, plus I now have a scanner to use for any future CEL.
Review 2: Works on an early OBD2, a lifesaver
I kept bogging down on my 1998 CR-V. I checked and rechecked timing, fuel pressure, spark plugs, distributor, everything. NO check engine light on, I was going crazy. Finally decided to shell out the money for a "pro" scanner, better than my $20 walmart one. I plugged this one in, took it for a test drive with the data record feature, and guess what I found- a bad O2 upstream sensor. It kept telling my computer it was rich (voltage was .6 to 1.2 all through the ride), and the downstream sensor dipped to near 0 as the computer cut back fuel. My short term fuel trims went down to -30%. All of this and NEVER threw a darn code for me to figure it out. I spent hours upon hours trying to find the mechanical issue, when this electronic tool took care of it in about 15 minutes. A no brainer, your time is worth way more than this costs, buy it. And I'm your average tree shade mechanic who works on his own cars, not a fake reviewer as you can see on my history. This NT301 scanner was that good for me to leave a glowing review.
Review 3: Great code reader for the price!
For the past few years I've used a Innova 3030 code reader that was purchased at Walmart for around the same price as the Foxwell NT301 however I was never a huge fan in fact I really hated using the Innova 3030 but it worked in a pinch. After getting the Foxwell NT301 and getting to use it for awhile now I can say I actually really enjoy using it. While both take about a minute to sync with the vehicle you get a loading screen with the Foxwell that doesn't make it seem to take as long. But down to the nitty gritty my old scanner only gave you generic codes. However the Foxwell gives you not only generic codes but once synced with the vehicle it can also give manufacture codes as well. The best part is that I give the codes with a description of the code. Which otherwise you would have to write them down and search for them online. This feature is very handy and a major time saver. The Foxwell also has a great easy to use full color display and easy to follow instructions. Additional features of Foxwell that I really like is the ability to read real time data and print off any codes that have been detected. I've used this unit on several vehicles. In the time I've owned it and each time it's worked flawlessly. However I did use it on a Cadillac I was recently working on and the only codes it was not able to pull where the chassis and suspension codes however I wasn't expecting this as they are usually only detectable on the vehicle diagnosis system itself. Overall I really like the Foxwell NT301 and will and have gladly recommended this reader to several people.
Review 4: How can the average driver not own a scan tool in today’s world? You need it!
Love this foxwell nt301 code reader. Always connect and disconnect with the car keys in your pocket of purse. Once you learn which side of the connector goes on put a piece of tape on the top and you won't ever have to even see the cars connector. This will point you in the right direction to solve your MIL lamp issues and your I/M issues before you take a car in for inspection. Now bear in mind you can get a MIL code which is caused by a failure of maintenance like I did. I got P0740 code (torque converter clutch solenoid) which was "SET" by the computer but was not the real problem. A quart of ATF +4 Chrysler fluid fixed it and the the transmission began to function like a new automobile. I took my time at a "covered" self serve gas station, used their paper towels , and had a bottle of ATF+4 (For Chrysler cars and trucks only by the way), my 99cent funnel from walmart and propped my hood open and followed the directions for checking fluid level in the Transmission. Happened to be running and in neutral. Naturally I pushed the parking brake "ON" while I did these checks. It took a half quart but never showed on the dip stick, so I put the rest of the quart in and it showed on the dip stick. I got back in the vehicle and moved through Park, reverse, drive , drive 2 and drive low and finally back to neutral and got a good level reading on the dip stick. I then took it for a ride. The trans functioned perfectly . The MIL light remained on for three on-off cycles. I normally would have let it stay on since if the fault is fixed the MIL light will go out on its own as the cars computer learns that the problem no longer exists. But I chose to clear the code using this tool and the light never came back on. This tool saved me a pan gasket, filter, two quarts (correction one quart of ATF fluid) a torque converter clutch solenoid switch, draining fluid in this weather, cleaning up a mess, getting my torque wrenches out, blue paper towels, and cardboard and lying on the ground in frigid weather in the Northeast.

Vident IBT200 Battery Tester Tutorial
How to use VIDENT IBT200 battery tester for 12V passenger vehicles and 24V heavy duty trucks?
Check the step-by-step guide as below (attached images & video).
Connection:
The red shelf is connected to the positive pole
The black shelf is connected to the negative pole
When the connection is normal, start Vident IBT200, it will enter battery volts page automatically
12V is for the car
24V is for the truck
Enter Main Menu
There are 5 options including:
1.BATTERY Capacity
2.CRANKING TEST
3.CHARGE SYSTEM:
4.Language SET
5.ABOUT
1.BATTERY CAPACITY:
Select Battery type-> VRLA/GEL/AGM/SLA->CCA TYPE
The current CCA is CCA 640A (SAE/EN)
Adjust the value by pressing <UP> or <DOWN> button
Then press <ENTER> button to test
The test result will be displayed as below
2.CRANKING TEST:
Make sure engine and all loads in off status, then press <ENTER>

Iprog+ Pro V84 Device Driver Not Found Error Solution
Problem: When install iprog+ Pro V84 software,connect iprog+ programmer to computer by USB cable, it displays “Unknown Device” in the “Computer Manager” as shown in the following picture.
The solution:
1.Follow the connection diagram to check whether the USB connection and others are correct.
2.Check the operating system of your computer
Note: The iprog+ iprog pro software can only work in Windows 7/ 8/Vista/XP. (Recommend Win7 32 bit and 64 bit)
3.Uninstall the current software and install V84 by the following link:

2.Copy iProg software and paste to desktop, then extract
3.Go to “Computer Manager” -> “Device Manager”-> “Network adapters”-> “Other devices” “iProg universal programmer” -> “Update Driver software”
4.Select “Browse my computer for driver software”
5.Click “Browse” to select “Driver” in the iprog+ software download kit
Click “Next” to continue
Select “Install this driver software anyway”
When driver software has been installed successfully, close the interface
Then the iprog + universal programmer (COM4) will appear in the ports (COM& LPT) option

How to Solve GM MDI2 Not Connected to MDI Problem
I bought the GM MDI 2 package from obdiitool.co.uk last week. I installed the MDI Manager software along with HDD but when I tried to connect the MDI device it asked me to recover the MDI software because the one is out of date. So when I try to update the GM MDI device an error occurs every time. And at the end, after a few seconds the device automatically disconnects and I can do nothing with it. I cannot connect again and the device seems dead.
I made several attempts to update/recover the MDI device but with no luck.

1.Connection method:
The tester is powered by the vehicle battery. Please connect the RED clamp to the positive terminal, and connect the Black clamp to the negative terminal. Connect the RED clamp prior to Black one is suggested.
The tester is ready to use along with the screen displays as below
Please check and reconnect two clamps fully and firmly connected to the terminals in case the screen displays as below.
2.Language set:
Enter main menu-> Language Set-> choose the language you desire
3.Battery capacity test:
This test determines condition of battery according to rated value labeled on the battery.
Step 1: Make sure the engine and all devices are off
The voltage value will be higher than that in the normal situation due to the checked battery is fully charged after the vehicle runs for a while.
Please turn on the headlights for 2 to 3 minutes, until battery voltage drops to the normal value, then turn off all devices and start testing.
Step 2: Press the UP or DOWN button to do the following operations
Select “1. BATTERY CAPACITY”-> “BATTERY TYPE”-> “CCA TYPE” or “CCA RATED”
Both of them are displayed on the battery rating label.
Step 3: Press ENTER to start battery test, the test result will display on the screen
Battery State of Health (SOH) and Test Result Reference Table:
Note: Internal Resistance refers to the sum total resistance of two series connection 12V batteries when testing 24V system.
4.Cranking Test :
This test determines cranking state by testing cranking voltage and time.
Step 1: make sure the engine and all devices are off
Step 2: Select “2. CRANKING TEST”
Step 3: Press ENTER to Cranking Test interface.
Start engine, the test result will be displayed as below

5.Charging Test:
This test determines charging system by testing it's condition under loaded and unloaded status. Step 1: make sure the engine and all devices are off

Q: What’s the measurement principle of this tester?
A: The battery will gradually aging with increase of time.
The main reason is that it can no longer generate some effectively chemical reaction because of aging of the surface of the battery plate.
That is why most of the batteries can longer be used mainly.
International Electric and Electronic Engineer Association (IEEE) formally looks the Conductivity Test as one of the standard of checking lead acid storage battery.
It points out from IEEE standard 1118-1996 that: Conductivity Test is used to test AC current generated by putting the known frequency and amplitude AC signal to both sides of the battery.
AC conductivity value is the ratio of AC current signal which keeps same phase with AC voltage and the AC voltage.
This tester is designed from this principle actually.
Q: Is the result affected by the installation of negative current for the vehicle?
A: All the negative currency will affect the result. Therefore please remove the negative currency prior to checking, in order to achieve the accurate data.
Q: Can this ibt200 tester predict when the battery goes down?
A: The internal resistance of the sealed lead-acid battery is complicated.
It is generated by ohm internal resistance, concentration polarization internal resistance, chemical reactions internal resistance and interference effect caused by double capacitance’s charging.
The ingredient of internal resistance and its relative content will change with different test method and different test moment, which can lead to different tested value of the internal resistance.
And there is no strict relationship between internal resistance (or conductance) and capacitance of the sealed lead-acid battery. So it is impossible to predict the life of battery according to a single battery’s internal resistance. But it can be predicted the life of the battery will be over soon from the sudden increase of its internal resistance and decrease of its conductance.
Q: Is the CCA value tested by Vident ibt200 correct?
A: CCA is considered as a control standard with the produce of the battery.
According to the accumulated records, the tested value of new battery is 10-15% higher than the standard value, and along with consuming of the battery, the value is getting close to standard, even lower afterward.
Q: What is the difference between the method of ibt200 tester and the load test method?
A: The load test method: According to the physical formula R=V/1, test equipment forcibly make the high permanent DC current (presently 40- 80A large current is available) go through the battery shortly (about 2-3 seconds).
And then the tested voltage of the battery can be used to figure out the internal resistance by the formula.
Disadvantages of load test method:
(1).Just available for large capacitance battery or storage battery. The small capacitance battery cannot load 40-80A large current in 2-3 seconds.
(2).When the large current going through the battery, there comes out polarization phenomenon from internal electrode, which can cause polarization internal resistance. As a result it has to be tested in a short time. Otherwise there is a large error of the internal resistance value.
(3).The internal electrode will be damage generally when large current go through the battery.
The method of VIDNET IBT200 tester: Battery is actually equivalent to an active resistance. So we add a fixed frequency and small current to it, and then sample the voltage value. Eventually the internal resistance can be figured out after some operation such as rectification and smoothing.
Advantages of this method:
(1).It can be used for checking almost all the batteries including low capacity battery and internal resistance of the notebook battery exclusively.
(2). It will not harm the battery.

1.Connection method:
The tester is powered by the vehicle battery. Please connect the RED clamp to the positive terminal, and connect the Black clamp to the negative terminal. Connect the RED clamp prior to Black one is suggested.

It points out from IEEE standard 1118-1996 that: Conductivity Test is used to test AC current generated by putting the known frequency and amplitude AC signal to both sides of the battery.
AC conductivity value is the ratio of AC current signal which keeps same phase with AC voltage and the AC voltage.
This tester is designed from this principle actually.
Q: Is the result affected by the installation of negative current for the vehicle?
A: All the negative currency will affect the result. Therefore please remove the negative currency prior to checking, in order to achieve the accurate data.
Q: Can this ibt200 tester predict when the battery goes down?
A: The internal resistance of the sealed lead-acid battery is complicated.
It is generated by ohm internal resistance, concentration polarization internal resistance, chemical reactions internal resistance and interference effect caused by double capacitance’s charging.
The ingredient of internal resistance and its relative content will change with different test method and different test moment, which can lead to different tested value of the internal resistance.
And there is no strict relationship between internal resistance (or conductance) and capacitance of the sealed lead-acid battery. So it is impossible to predict the life of battery according to a single battery’s internal resistance. But it can be predicted the life of the battery will be over soon from the sudden increase of its internal resistance and decrease of its conductance.
Q: Is the CCA value tested by Vident ibt200 correct?
A: CCA is considered as a control standard with the produce of the battery.
According to the accumulated records, the tested value of new battery is 10-15% higher than the standard value, and along with consuming of the battery, the value is getting close to standard, even lower afterward.
Q: What is the difference between the method of ibt200 tester and the load test method?
A: The load test method: According to the physical formula R=V/1, test equipment forcibly make the high permanent DC current (presently 40- 80A large current is available) go through the battery shortly (about 2-3 seconds).
And then the tested voltage of the battery can be used to figure out the internal resistance by the formula.
Disadvantages of load test method:
(1).Just available for large capacitance battery or storage battery. The small capacitance battery cannot load 40-80A large current in 2-3 seconds.
(2).When the large current going through the battery, there comes out polarization phenomenon from internal electrode, which can cause polarization internal resistance. As a result it has to be tested in a short time. Otherwise there is a large error of the internal resistance value.
(3).The internal electrode will be damage generally when large current go through the battery.
The method of VIDNET IBT200 tester: Battery is actually equivalent to an active resistance. So we add a fixed frequency and small current to it, and then sample the voltage value. Eventually the internal resistance can be figured out after some operation such as rectification and smoothing.
Advantages of this method:
(1).It can be used for checking almost all the batteries including low capacity battery and internal resistance of the notebook battery exclusively.
(2). It will not harm the battery.
